CLERMUN
Word from our Secretary-General
Dear Delegates,
It is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you to the seventh ClerMUN Conference, which will be held from November 3 to 6, 2026, at the Hôtel de Région, in Clermont-Ferrand, under the theme “Shaping Tomorrow.”
I am truly excited to engage with you on such a meaningful and timely topic.
“Shaping Tomorrow” in a world where what once seemed impossible is quickly becoming possible, and soon, reality.
“Shaping Tomorrow” at a time when technological innovation, geopolitical shifts, and demographic and climate changes are continuously reshaping our societies.
“Shaping Tomorrow” so that we may build a future that reflects who we are, one in which we are not mere observers, but active participants.
We are living through a pivotal moment in history. The challenges before us are vast and complex. Across every field, and at an accelerating pace, our societies are undergoing profound transformations whose full scope and consequences remain uncertain. In the face of these critical changes, many choose inaction. Some view them as inevitable. Others focus on preserving short-term interests or maintaining the status quo, without looking ahead or considering the well-being of future generations.
We, however, believe that we can and must act now.
As Abraham Lincoln once said, “The best way to predict your future is to create it.”
It is now up to us to shape that future together.
ClerMUN 2026 is committed to rising to this challenge. Through thoughtful debates and concrete proposals, we will work together to address the defining issues of our time.
Our work will be organized across five committees: the Security Council, the International Telecommunication Union, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the World Health Organization, and the International Court of Justice.
I firmly believe that we have a vital role to play, not in passively inheriting the world of yesterday, but in actively shaping the world of tomorrow. A world that preserves and builds upon the best of past generations, while learning from and avoiding their mistakes.
Your participation in this conference already reflects your commitment to shaping the future and confronting the challenges ahead. Together, let us rise to the moment.
The ClerMUN team and I look forward to welcoming you this fall in Clermont-Ferrand.
Sincerely,
Thomas RADEV
