Issue 1: How can companies and multinational corporations limit the impact of global warming and ensure a just and equitable transition?
Numerous reports, such as those from the IPCC, have alerted us to the urgency of the climate crisis and its far-reaching consequences. As major contributors to greenhouse gas emissions and the pollution of land, seas, and oceans, companies must take action—together with governments and workers—to guarantee a transition that is just, fair, and inclusive.

Resolution:
Our delegates discussed this issue based on a resolution proposed by the Employers’ Delegation of France. Several avenues were explored, ranging from rewarding companies that make tangible efforts to combat climate change to adapting working conditions and hours when climate risks become too severe (e.g., heatwaves, floods). The committee also debated and adopted various funding mechanisms, both for awareness campaigns and for sustainable development projects. The resolution, which was adopted by a majority of the committee, emphasized the promotion of sustainable products, green technologies, and green jobs.

Issue 2: How can we address the impact of climate change on the resurgence of child labor worldwide?
Climate change and the natural disasters it triggers are pushing the most vulnerable families in less developed countries into extreme poverty. In such conditions, many families are forced to send their children to work in order to survive. Today, nearly 160 million children are involved in child labor, including 86.6 million in Sub-Saharan Africa—a region particularly affected by both climate change and poverty.

Resolution:
To combat this phenomenon, the Workers’ Delegation of China presented a resolution focused on cooperation and transparency among states and companies, underpinned by the creation of international financial aid mechanisms.
