Clermun 2024:
Expert Insights

After the opening ceremony, the delegates had the opportunity to interact with the experts in each committee, which helped clarify certain technical questions and strengthen their understanding of global issues.

In the FAO, delegates discussed an agricultural model capable of feeding a growing population while limiting deforestation. Antoine Sautenet provided them with key information on the actions taken by the Michelin Group, one of the world's largest buyers of natural rubber, to make the rubber supply chain environmentally responsible and beneficial to all stakeholders.

In the Security Council, Alain Le Roy discussed the role that this institution could play—despite the vetoes of the five permanent members—in a world facing the potential rise of climate-related conflicts (water wars, resource use conflicts caused by desertification, etc.).

At the IOM, Fabienne Pompey shared her career path and various work and internship opportunities at the UN. She also answered students’ questions about the conflicts that have recently erupted.
